Build Order

Multiplayer Outpost 2 RTS Basics WON

A build order is a term common in Real Time Strategy (RTS) multiplayer communities. A build order is a series of actions which are stacked and carried out by a player during a game usually designed to expedite unit production and relates mostly to micro-management, not strategy.

THe effectiveness of a build order is based on three points; the integrity of the build order (which can only be discovered through repeated use), when the build order is initiated and how well the player conforms to the build order. Since BO's are reliant on fixed build times, simultaneous queues and are tuned down to the second, a failure to complete a step in a build order early in the game impacts events farther on. Most build orders in use in Outpost 2 (as well as most other RTS games) are well established and will only result in a loss due to failure to follow the build order. Multiplayer matches between seasoned veterans of Outpost 2 are evenly matched as the community shares strong build orders and most players who are active today have been for years.
