How To Use The CD

From OPU Wiki

Table of contents

Music

If you want to have music in your game copy the op2.clm and music1.wav files from the CD's outpost2\ folder to your Outpost 2 folder. If you are low on disk space or can't copy the files, you can insert the CD and OP2 will play from the CD (however there may be some lag)

Movies

If you want to have the Outpost 2 movies in your game copy all the .avi files from the CD's outpost2\ folder to your Outpost 2 folder. If you are low on disk space OP2 will also play the movies direct from CD.

Help File

If you want the original OP2 Online Manual from the CD, copy Outpost2.hlp and Outpost2.cnt from the CD's outpost2\ folder to your Outpost 2 folder.

Note

If you have downloaded the small version of the game, you can't use the map or dll files from the CD with Outpost Universe's Outpost 2 version. (Some of the maps that weren't included in the small version exist on the CD, however they are incompatible with the new Outpost Universe files from the larger version of the game, so when trying to play these maps with other people that have the updated versions, you'll get a checksum error). You should take your CD out of the drive when playing multiplayer otherwise Outpost 2 will scan and find maps on your CD and show them in the multiplayer menu (when hosting) but you will not be able to play these.

Also note that if you insert or remove the CD while the game is running, you may cause the game to crash, pop up messages, or do other strange things. Insert or remove the CD before or after running Outpost 2.
