Earth has been destroyed and the last humans have escaped to a barren, lifeless planet called "New Terra". Strife has split up the group into two colonies with differing ideologies. Plymouth wants to adapt itself to living on the planet but Eden wants to terraform the planet into an earth-like world as soon as possible. In their rush to change the planet scientists in Eden accidentally unleashed an unknown force that is spreading inexorably outward, and creating disastrous climatic disruption along the way. Forced to evacuate their homes, the two colonies must survive a deadly race for survival, across a now-hostile planet, with an invisible killer at their heels.
The chapters of the Outpost_2_novella roughly parallel events in the game, and are revealed one by one as the player progresses.
