Outpost 2 Introduction

From OPU Wiki

In Outpost 2 there are Structures and Vehicles.

Structures List and abilities:

|Basic Structures:

|Command Center - Need 4 workers, and 2 scientists to operate. All colonies need one to survive.

|Structure Factory - Needs 4 workers to operate. This allows you to build more buildings.

|Common Ore Smelter - Needs 3 people to operate. This allow you to mine and store 10,000 units of common Ore.

|Comomon Ore Mine - Allows you to mine common ore. (Orange Bars)(see Robo Miner for more details.)

|Agridome - Needs 1 Worker to operate. Creates food for your colonists.

|Standard Lab - Needs 1 worker to operate plus scientists to research. Allows for new low level research.

|Tokamak - Provides power for your buildings. (Remember to fix this on occasion, as it breaks down over time.)

|Nursery - Needs 1 worker and 1 scientist to operate. Children are born here.

|Universisty - Needs 2 Scientists to operate. Automatically trains new workers, may train scientists from spare workers.

|Advanced Lab - Needs 1 Worker plus scientists to research. Allows for more advanced research.

|Vehicle Factory - Needs 3 People to operate. Allows for the production of new vehicles.

With the above buildings built, you can survive Outpost 2. Even if you are playing with Morale on, or are playing a colony based (single player) game. However with Morale on you will suffer greatly in the production department. The lower your morale, the slower your factories will produce goods and services you need. If you find you are playing one of these games have a look at the optional buildings listing below. Likewise by only building the above buildings you will be severaly limited in what types of combat vehicles you can create.

Optional Buildings:

|Rare Ore Mine - Allows you to harvest rare ores. (yellow bars) (see Robo Miner for more dtails.)

|Rare Ore Smelter - Same as Common Ore Smelter only for rare ores instead. Residence - Needs 1 worker to operate. Houses 25 people (35 with Environmental Physiology research.)

|Advanced Residence (Eden Only) - Same as Residence only houses 50 poeple.

|Disaster Resistant Housing (Plymouth Only) - Same as residence only houses 40 poeple and is more able to with stand natural disasters.)

|Medical Centers - Needs to operate. Keeps 50 colonists (75 with Automated Diadnostic Research.)healthier per building, helps greatly with Morale issues. D.I.R.T (Disater Instant Responce Team) - Needs to operate. Helps keep buildings together longer.

|Meteor Watch Observatory (Eden Only) - Helps Alert you sooner of incoming enemy EMP missles, and Meteor strikes. Also works with Meteor Defense systems to target inbound meteors and EMP missles.

|Meteor Defense (Eden Only) - Basically a must have for any long game. Strikes down EMP missles and Meteors that would otherwise deal death and damage to your civilized colonists.

|Arachnid Factory (Plymouth Only) - Allows for the production of Spiders and Scorpions.

|Consumer Goods Factory (Eden Only) - A truely useless item, do not build this for any reason ever. Supossedly it helps to temporarily boost your populations morale by creating consumer goods. I suppose if it made them with out your instructions it would be more useful, but its another demand on your time and energy and just a waste of power and resources in my humble opinion.

|Forum (Plymouth Only) - A place for your colonists to play at. helps with Morale.

|Recreation Center (Eden Only) - A place for your colonists to play at. helps with Morale.

With the above build properly, not only can you achieve 99% good morale, but you will be able to build at an extended rate most likely high and faster then your opponents. Hwever let me temper in some cautioning words of advice. Avoid researching the last 3 buildings above. If they are never researched your colonists will never expect them, and thus you will never have to build them to keep your people happy. The less you have to build and worry about the better off you are as it means you can spend more time building the things that really matter, such as those all too wonderful Tigers you have been dreaming of crushing your oponents with.
